ONX.Showcase.Athens.2026 © Stephie Grape for Onassis Stegi Atmospheric Pulse: The Shared Breath (WIP) is an interactive sculptural installation that translates collective human breath into a responsive physical system. Semi-translucent 3D-printed forms fabricated with Elastic resin rhythmically expand and contract through pneumatic mechanisms driven by pumps, Arduino microcontrollers, and proximity sensors, with code simulating the timing and cadence of human breathing. Responding to the density and duration of human presence, the sculptures transform invisible bodily processes into shared atmospheric conditions. Referencing industrial and defensive forms, the work explores tensions between fragility and latent threat, where rigid structures become vulnerable bodies. Avoiding screens and personal interfaces, interaction occurs solely through presence, breathing, and lingering, inviting reflection on intimacy, co-presence, and technologically mediated collective experience.

Kinetic installation, 3D-printed sculptural units, generative design, sensors, physical computing.

Atmospheric Pulse: The Shared Breath (2026) is an ongoing installation commissioned by ONX Seeds, consisting of six sculptural units with variable dimensions.

Concept and realisation: Yorgos Papafigos, Code, circuit: Alexandros Drymonitis
