Distorted nature (2024-ongoing) explores the intersection of media representation and AI-generated imagery by transforming textual headlines about global conflict zones into three-dimensional objects and environments. Utilizing Luma AI, a platform primarily used for creating gaming assets and props, this project seeks to forge 3D visualizations from news sources such as CNN, BBC, The Guardian, and Al Jazeera.
Despite Luma AI's primary use in generating gaming content and toy assets, its capabilities extend far beyond these applications. This project leverages Luma AI to generate 3D objects and environments that encapsulate the essence of media headlines, revealing both the explicit content and the subtle biases embedded within these representations. By translating media headlines into 3D objects, the project examines the distorted nature of media representation and how AI interprets and illustrates these events. The resulting 3D objects and environments will reflect both the content and the inherent biases present in media portrayals of conflict zones.
