Installation view, GUI/GOOEY exhibition at PLEXUS PROJECTS, curated by Laura Splan, Brooklyn, NYC

“Listening” (2024-present), CG animation (35MM), 4K, stereo sound
My recent work, Listening, is a CGI composition created entirely with advanced gaming technology, specifically Unreal Engine. The audio, sound design, and dialogues were created utilizing AI language models such as SoundGen and ElevenLabs.io, which use text-to-speech technology.
The piece juxtaposes modern consumer electronics with natural and industrial materials, including AirPods, microchips, and silicon stones housed in a translucent bottle. This container conjures a sense of clinical sterilization, with its transparent design providing an unhindered view of gadgets essential to our daily lives. Furthermore, the created dialogues are methodically edited to communicate emotions using the language model, addressing issues of authenticity, voice cloning, and privacy in the digital age.

"Within the Confines" is an ongoing project that emerges as an entirely CPU-composed work in which the ethereal manifestation of a monochromatic creature is projected on a small scale onto the periphery of a wall. The visual narrative insinuates an untamed wilderness encapsulated by the very confines that envelop it, much like a trapped animal. These literal and metaphorical confinements suggest the limitations we impose upon our surrounding world. In this composition, the lines that delimit reality and an enigmatic realm are artfully obscured, inviting the observer to question and redefine the boundaries of perception.

Event II, 2022-ongoing, computer 3D simulation, stereo sound.

The video presents two inanimate objects resembling grenades on a stark concrete display within a polluted environment encircled by toxic waste. These objects engage in a rhythmic interaction accompanied by the haunting sound of synchronized breathing, dissolving the distinction between life and lifelessness. Their presence evokes tension, as their physicality suggests violence, while the breathing lends them an unsettling semblance of vitality. The toxic surroundings amplify the narrative of contamination and dependency, turning the interaction into a metaphor for ecological imbalance, parasitic relationships, and industrial domination.

1. Authentic body II (2021), 3D Printed SLA clear resin, multicolour 3D printing, stainless steel pin, carbon fiber fixation apparatus.
2. Unique body II (2021) 3D Printed SLA clear resin, multicolour 3D printing composite, stainless steel pin, carbon fiber fixation apparatus.

Trials & Errors / Catalogue
Boliasma II introduces three unusual personal sculptural devices that address the impact of intelligent systems on the environment. Industrial toxic materials, organic matter and electronic waste are assembled and welded together with medical instruments used for healing. Reminiscent of trash collectors with an eerie aesthetic, these objects look like contemporary grafting (boliasma) devices that involve both the possibility of transformation but also failure. They could generate a new form of energy, or they could end up being remains of materials with different decay times affecting the environment. Made from fragments of the culture of connectivity, the Boliasma Il sculptures comment on humans' constant effort to restore their relationship with the environment through new technological inventions and interventions.
All artworks are new commissions.
